LOAVES AND FISHES IS CELEBRATING FOURTEEN YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY

Back To School Book Bag Project

Throughout the spring and summer, The Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry collects items for the pantry children (grades K-12) for their book bags. There are specific items that we look to collect every year in order to ensure that every child has some of the necessary items they need to have a successful school year. The client families of our Pantry are often unable to supply these items. The items that are included in the book bags, depending on the grade of the student, are as follows:

  • Book bags
  • Erasers
  • Pens
  • #2 Pencils
  • Filler Paper
  • 1 Subject Spiral Notebooks
  • Composition Notebooks
  • Highlighters
  • Colored pencils (12/box)
  • Pocket Folders
  • Glue Stick
  • 12" ruler
  • 24-Crayon Box
  • Colored Markers (12/box)
  • Handheld Pencil Sharpener

The pantry begins to collect these items starting in June and accepts donations thru August. Donations of both supplies and money are welcome; any cash received will be used to purchase the book bags and supplies that are not donated.
