Established in August 2001 as a ministry of Prospect Hill Baptist Church, the Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry has been steadfast in its mission to alleviate hunger and provide hope throughout Delaware County, Pennsylvania. Founded by deacons Linda Freeman and Lana Lindenmuth, the pantry has evolved over the past two decades into a vital resource for individuals and families facing food insecurity. Our Mission The Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry is dedicated to addressing the needs of our fellow citizens living under the weight of poverty by providing nutritious food and fostering a spirit of caring and compassion. Who We Serve We are a non-denominational, non-sectarian organization committed to inclusivity and respect. Our services are extended to all individuals, regardless of gender, age, race, religion, country of origin, or sexual orientation. Currently, we assist nearly 1,000 families across various communities in Delaware County, ensuring they have access to essential food supplies. Our Services Operating entirely through the dedication of volunteers, the pantry provides a diverse selection of fresh produce, frozen meats, and shelf-stable items to meet the nutritional needs of households. We strive to offer balanced and healthful food options, recognizing the importance of nutrition in overall well-being. Community Engagement and Partnerships Our impact is amplified through robust partnerships with local organizations, businesses, and community members. Collaborations with entities such as Philabundance and the Delaware County Health Department and our other gracious partners enhance our ability to serve the community effectively. These partnerships are instrumental in organizing events, food drives, and educational programs that address food insecurity and promote community well-being. Get involved and sign up to volunteer. How to Access Our Services We are open to residents of Delaware County who meet federal income guidelines. Clients are encouraged to visit during our operating hours to receive food assistance once per calendar month. Please bring identification verifying residency, such as a utility bill or ID card.
